Rath Yatra that every year get celebrated in Puri in the month of June or July will be witnessed on 14th July this year. Many devotees from around the nation participated in the devotional occasion. Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and their sister Subhadra’s chariot fetched by the devotees with the help of string on a precious day. Worshipers reached before the festival to pay their tribute to their god by preparing the chariots and their efforts and enthusiasm in the preparation results as the beautiful and fascinating Raths.

As per the Hindi calendar Ashadh Shukla Dwitiya marked the occurrence of Rath Yatra and eventually, there is not a single Yatra which was spared by the rain.
Gundicha Temple is the destination where the Yatra ends up. This also has a significance as according to ancient legends it is suggested that Lords went on vacation to their maternal aunt that is Gundicha Temple from their home for nine days.
It is well known and well followed too that before seven days of Yatra the Jagannath Temple in Puri remains closed as it is stated that Lord Jagannath caught up with high fever at this time so to provide them rest while their illness the door gets closed every year.
