Former captain Sourav Ganguly used to dominate Indian cricket. Ganguly was born on 8 July 1973 in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, where he still live today. His parents have been very close to him and they used to call him as Maharaj. The special thing related to his family is that he lives in a joint family with more than 50 members. He is also known by names like 'Dada', 'Prince of Kolkata', and Bengal Tiger.

Ganguly earned a lot of name in the cricket world. Although he could not fulfill the dream of his parents. His parents wanted him to become a doctor or an engineer, not a cricketer. Ganguly made his ODI debut against the West Indies in the world in 1991 and 5 years later he made his Test cricket debut at Lord's against England in 1996. During his cricket career, he has also captained the Indian team. Dada had led India for a total of 49 Tests and tasted victory for the Indian team in 21 matches. Ganguly has also recorded more than 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.
