Islamabad: Corruption in Pakistan increased compared to the previous year and in this case Pakistan has been ranked 120th in the list of 180 countries. According to Transparency International's International Corruption Index 2019, Pakistan has slipped three places in 2019 in terms of corruption in 2018 and now it is ranked 120th among 180 countries.

At the international level, the corruption watchdog has assessed 180 countries on a scale of zero to hundred. The more points the country got, the less corrupt it became. In 2018, Pakistan got 33 out of a hundred. However, in 2019, it decreased by one point and its score was reduced to 32. Transparency International has said that the worrying situation is that the score of any country has not improved compared to the previous year. Most of the countries which are at the top have also reduced their marks. Therefore, there is no right to do anything in the attempt against corruption.

India is ranked 80 in this corruption index of 180 countries with 41 points. Corruption in Bangladesh is spread on a very large scale and it is at 146th place in this list with only 26 points. The least corrupt countries have been found in Denmark and New Zealand, which top the list.
