The last international cricket match was played between Australia and New Zealand on 13 March. After which now cricket is going to return after 116 days from today. The special thing is that this is the first time in 46 years since the start of ODI cricket when no international match has been played for more than 100 days.
The first Test match between England and West Indies, starting today, will start at 3.30 pm Indian time. The first match of the three-Test series will be played in Southampton from 8 to 12 July. Not only England and the Windies but the whole world is eyeing this competition.
England captaincy will be replaced by all-rounder Ben Stokes in place of regular captain Joe Root. The Windies will be captained by Jason Holder. Keeping in mind the coronavirus, players will have to play the match with great caution. The players will have to compromise with the empty stadium at the place of the packed stadium. The second match of the three-match Test series will be played in Manchester from 16 to 20 July and the third and final match will also be played in Manchester from 24 to 28 July.
