Why is International Firefighter's Day celebrated?

International Firefighter's Day is being celebrated all over the world today, International Firefighter's Day is celebrated every year on May 4 to pay respect to the firefighter. These firefighters spend their entire lives protecting others without worrying about their lives amid the blazing flames. Sometimes their work goes on for more than 15-20 hours, but even then these real 'heroes' of the social risk their lives and save others from their lives to property.

International Fire Fighters Day is held on 4th May every year to salute the valor of these warriors. On this day, the world pays homage to the firemen who have made the supreme sacrifice while giving their lives in the community service. At the same time, firefighters who risk their lives are thanked for saving lives all over the world.

After the loss of lives of five firemen due to a forest fire in Australia on 4th January 1999, proposals were sent by email around the world for setting up International Fire Men's Day. The day expresses gratitude to the firemen for their courageous and sacrificial work.
