International Olympic Day is celebrated on 23 June worldwide. In the last two decades, International Olympic Day has helped spread Olympic ideals in every corner of the world. The ancient Olympics are thought to have originated in 776 B.C. It was named Olympic because of being played on Mount Olympia. Later Greece was particularly affected by the increasing power of the Roman Empire and gradually the importance of the Olympic Games began to decline. Around 393 CE, the Olympic Games stopped in Greece.

In the year 1896, the Olympic Games were held again in Greece's capital Athens. After 1896, Paris did not have to wait to host the Olympics in the year 1900 and the editions could not be popular, as there was a shortage of grand events during this time. The year 2008 has been considered as the grandest and best event in the Chinese capital Beijing Olympics.

The Olympic Games, known as the world's largest sports competition, are organized by the International Sports Committee every four years. It is the leading sports competition in the world, more than 200 countries take part in it. There are many summer and winter sports in this Olympic competitions. On the Olympic day, people from different countries participate in various sports like running, exhibition, music, and education, etc, and show their talent.

In today's time, Olympic Day has gone far beyond being just a sports event and its three main pillars are forward, learned, and discoveries. It has become an international effort, by which fitness and good man is being promoted. Through this game, the players promote the right game, respect for each other, and the spirit of sportsmanship. This day encourages people to remain fit and active.
