Ludhiana, Volunteers of NGO donated the blood at blood donation camp which was held at Department of Transfusion Medicine, DMCH.
The volunteers participated with great enthusiasm in donating blood for a noble cause.
"The blood donation camp was organised as part of International Voluntary Blood Donation Day on June 14," said Dr Amarjit Kaur, Professor and Head of Transfusion Medicine.
She further added that the day is celebrated all over the world to commemorate birth anniversary of Karl Landsteiner, who discovered modern system of classification of blood groups i.e. A, B and O in 1900 and Rh factor in the year 1937.
80 units of blood were collected during the camp which will be used for Thalassmia and cancer patients.
