Karauli: Curfew has been imposed in the Karauli districts of Rajasthan even today. Communal violence broke out here on Saturday after stone pelting at a motorcycle rally. 35 people were injured in the violence. On Saturday, some persons had taken out a Nav Samvatsar bike rally here on the occasion of Hindu New Year. Violence broke out after stone pelting at the rally. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has said that the police will take strict action against those who are criminals in the incident. He has said that some anti-social elements are worsening the situation and the police will take strict action against them. The chief minister appealed to the public to maintain peace. 

Rajasthan ADG Law and Order Hawa Singh Ghumaria said that so far 36 persons have been arrested in the incident and the situation is now under control. Rajasthan Police said that mobile internet has been shut down in Karauli to prevent rumours and a strict vigil is being kept on anti-social elements. The administrative staff is keeping a close watch on the situation in Karauli, which is 170 km from Jaipur. 

According to Karauli police, the bike rally was passing through a Muslim-dominated area to celebrate Nav Samvatsar when some persons pelted stones. Seeing that, the violence increased. The miscreants burnt down some shops and one bike was also burnt. Several other motorcycles were vandalized. On the violence that erupted after stone pelting at the rally, CM Ashok Gehlot has said that he has immediately discussed the matter with the DGP and the police administration. In this case, the police will take strict action against all those who are criminals. The Chief Minister has said that this has always been the tradition in Rajasthan or whether Hindu-Muslim Sikhs live in harmony with each other. The police are doing their job, but the elders of the society there should also come forward to maintain peace and order. Chief Minister Gehlot said there are some non-serious persons who defame the entire society. At the same time, I have given instructions to such people to take the strictest possible action. I urge the people of Karauli to maintain peace.
