For the first time in India, the number of Internet users has increased in villages compared to the city. The report by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and Nilsson said that the number of internet users in rural areas of India has risen to 227 million, which is 10 per cent higher than in urban areas. In November 2019, the number of internet users in urban areas was 20.5 crore. This number of Internet users is increasing due to cheap internet and cheap 4G phones.

India becomes the world's second largest Internet users
The report said that 7.1 crore children (ages 5-11) are using the internet in their parents' phones. Talking about the total internet users in India, their number has increased to 504 million. With these figures, India has become the second largest Internet user country in the world after China. There are about 85 crore internet users in China. The total number of Internet users in the US is 28-30 million.

Number of women internet users by 21 percent
The report also said that there has been an increase in the number of women using the internet. According to the report, between March 2019 and November, the number of women using the Internet has increased by 21 percent, while the number of men has increased by just 9 percent. 26 million women have gone online during this period. Platforms like POPxo are behind the increase in the number of women internet users. POPxo is a women's social platform that has been in operation since 2014. Women join local languages on this platform. The monthly average page views of this site is 22 million. The platform is available in Hindi, English, Marathi and Bangla languages.

How many users are there in which city?
Talking about the city, Mumbai has the highest number of internet users with 13 million, while the country's capital New Delhi is at number two with 13.1 million users. This number is 66 lakhs in Bangalore, 62 lakhs in Kolkata and 60 lakhs in Chennai. In the year 2019, Indians have spent an average of 3.5 hours per day on mobile.
