As already many giant carmakers witnessing loss due to parts unavailability. Now in the line, Renault has revealed that its global group sales fell for the third year in a row in 2021, with a drop of 4.5 percent. The business blamed the drop in revenue on a supply constraint of semiconductor chips. Last year, the company's passenger cars and light trucks sales dropped 4.5 percent to 2,696,401 units. While Renault brand vehicle sales were down 5.1%, Dacia brand car sales climbed by 3.1 percent, and Lada brand car sales increased by 0.3 percent.

Renault, on the other hand, which, like its global peers, is working to accelerate the electrification of its models under the leadership of CEO Luca de Meo, said it was sticking to the sales strategy it started in the third quarter of 2020. This, it hopes, will result in a rise in its sales share.

The company also stated that in its five major European markets - France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom - retail sales now account for 58 percent of total sales, up six points from 2019.
