Islamabad: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been ousted from power in Pakistan, is facing increasing difficulties. After the prime minister's chair was snatched away, he is now seen to be in new trouble. The latest case relates to a necklace. It is being told that Imran had sold this necklace for Rs 18 crore while he was in the post of PM. Imran was gifted this necklace when he was the PM and as per rules, he had to deposit it in the government Tosha-Khana (state gift store), but Imran did not do so.
According to the report, now Pakistan's top investigating agency, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has started investigating the case. Imran had given the necklace to former special assistant Zulfiqar Bukhari instead of depositing it in the government treasury, who had sold it to a Lahore jeweller for Rs 18 crore. According to the rule, public gifts can be kept with you by paying half the price, but Imran Khan deposited only a small amount in return. Let us know that, during a visit to the Gulf countries in the year 2021, a sultan had given a necklace of diamonds as well as some other gifts to Imran Khan. It is being told that Imran Khan's Begum Bushra Bibi liked this necklace and kept it with her and later gave it for sale. Bushra also kept some other gifts she received from Imran and gave some to her friend Farah Khan or Farah Shahzadi.
It is being told that a case will be registered against Bushra Bibi and Farah Shahzadi in this case. Farah Shahzadi has left Pakistan and left for the US via Dubai even before Imran Khan stepped down as PM. At the same time, Zulfiqar Bukhari has termed the allegation as baseless and false.
