New Delhi: Karti Chidambaram s/o of former FM P Chidambaram, arrested by the CBI on Wednesday at Chennai Airport in connection with the investigation into the INX Media case, Today will be produced before a CBI court as his one-day CBI custody ends on Thursday.

Karti, 46 was arrested on Wednesday morning after he landed from London at Chennai airport.  According to reports, He was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Sumeet Anand at around 4.50 pm when the CBI sought his custody to interrogate him for sighting the whole  “criminal -conspiracy” in the case claiming he was not cooperating in the investigation.

Karti’s arrest came nine months after the CBI lodged an FIR against him as accusing of criminal conspiracy, cheating, accepting gratification by crooked or illegal means and influencing public servants to take bribe and also for criminal misconduct.

Karti has been prime accused of criminally taking service charges for obtaining FIPB clearance to the INX Media for getting funds from abroad worth Rs 305 crore in 2007 when his father was the finance minister in the Congress-led UPA regime.

Karti was brought to Delhi in the afternoon by the CBI after his detention. He was taken to the CBI headquarters and then produced before a Duty Magistrate.
