The Inzamam-ul-Haq-led Pakistan’s selection panel on Monday has announced their final 15-member squad for the impending ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. came up with a huge surprise as they named experience bowler Wahab Riaz in the squad alongside Mohammad Ami. Wahab’s inclusion in the side turned a few eyeballs due to the fact that the left-arm speedster had played his last ODI match for Pakistan in June 2017.

Inzamam explained that Wahab has vast experience and can bowl with both new and old ball while producing reverse swing in the death overs. He added that they felt the previously-included bowlers were lacking experience and the team can be benefitted by the presence of an experienced bowler.

At the press conference during the announcement of Pakistan’s World Cup 2019 squad, Former Skipper said, "Wahab Riaz has the experience, he can bowl with the old ball and reverse it. He's a senior bowler also and we felt that our bowlers are lacking experience a bit, so we included him. Wahab Riaz has performed well in domestic tournaments. There is no aspect of the panic button here, we've selected the team according to the requirement after speaking to the captain and coach.”
