India's major refiner, Indian Oil Corp, has purchased a total of 4 million barrels of oil through tenders for loading in May and June, traders said on Wednesday, April 13.
They stated that the Indian Oil Corp purchased 2 million barrels of Murban crude and another 2 million barrels of West African crude. It was unclear which West African grades IOC had purchased at the time. The results came after IOC withdrew several high-sulphur crude grades from its tender on Tuesday, including Russian Urals.
The IOC purchased 6 million barrels of Russian Urals in earlier tenders for loading and delivery in May.
According to trade sources, Indian Oil Corp has eliminated many high-sulphur crude grades from its latest tender, including Russian Urals., India's leading refiner informed market participants that Das, Eugene Island, Thunder Horse, and Urals crude were no longer on the list of grades for its next tender, which ends on Tuesday.
