The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) itself has introduced major cuts in the contingent participating in the South Asian Games. A huge contingent of 776 teams was sent to the Sports Ministry for first approval for these games in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal, starting on December 1. Now the IOA has sought the approval of the 620 squad, which has 467 players. At the same time, the Sports Ministry has refused to bear the expenses of the team managers. He has been asked to leave at his own expense. There is a cut in this.

The participation of the archery team in these games has not been discussed. The IOA claims that the way for the Taekwondo team to participate has been cleared, while the karate team has been stopped due to sports union disputes. The teams of archery, karate and taekwondo from the revised team sent to the ministry by the IOA The name was removed, along with the athletics team was reduced from 127 to 98.  The IOA has sought approval from the ministry for a total of 21 sports.

However, the team of 467 players sent by the IOA. In that too some players will not be able to participate in these games for their personal reasons. The ministry has no objection to the names of the players, but has refused to bear the expenses of 19 team managers. Although the ministry has approved these team managers to accompany the team, but has asked them to go at their expense.
