Pandya's 37-ball 86 and his 98-run association with Martin Guptill accompanied by his amazing bowling skills taking 2 wickets helped Mumbai Indians secure a crucial win against Delhi Daredevils scoring 206 for four. Pandya was able to hit seven fours and six sixes in their final home game at Vishakhapatnam. With this match, Delhi Daredevils eventually was pushed out of the top four which was able to secure only 126 runs for itself. Daredevils, who won the toss chose fielding and started with Shahbaaz Nadeem. Mumbai Indian's score grew as they counter attacked with full energy hitting a four and a six. Shahbaaz's bowling was followed by Chris Morris and Zaheer Khan who gave a tough time to Mumbai Indians.

Rohit Sharma showed excellent control on the field. Guptill and Rohit scored a six in the fourth over. Zaheer continued making it difficult for Mumbai Indians to raise their score board. Sixth over saw Nadeem coming in giving opportunity to score 12 runs. As Mumbai Indians ended the power play, sixth over saw mid wicket for Rohit with a run rate of 7.5. Amit Mishra's arrival saw a decrease in Mumbai Indian's score during the 7th over.

Then Guptill took a few boundaries against Mishra and Imran Tahir. Bowlers faced chips and bunts due to changes in the pace and Pandya helped Mumbai Indians reach 84 completing half of their innings. Thirteenth over saw 2 sixes by the NewZealand batsman against Tahir which helped Mumbai Indians reach above 100. Within 22 deliveries, Pandya was able to reach 50 in the fourteenth over as he hit a consecutive four and six aganist Nadeem's bowl. Guptill scored two less than 50 and untill 18th over Pandya continued to hit fours and sixes letting his team cross 150. 18th over saw his departure when was bowled by Morris, but he did equal Dinesh Karthik for the highest individual score for Mumbai Indians against Delhi Daredevils. Pollard also went in the same over bowled by Morris. For the first time in IPL 2016, Mumbai Indians was able to cross 200 with batting efforts continued by Ambati Rayudu and Jos Buttler.

Second innings began with a slow start by Mayak Agrawal who scored 6 in the first over against Harbhajan Singh.Quinton de Kock started off well Mitchell McClenaghan giving him his first six. The six was followed by Vinay hitting three fours and a six giving Daredevils an over of 19 runs. Fifth over saw the end of the partnership which was able to score 35 off 19 balls with the loss of Karun Nair who fell against Harbhajan.

Sanju Samson was another batsman who went run out with which it became difficult for Daredevils to be consistent in scoring. When De Knock went out, Daredevils had to face huge setback as he left the field at the end of ten overs with the Daredevils's scoreboard at 81 for 4. Rishabh Pant and JP Duminy tried to take the match forward but soon fell. In a short while, unable to score much for the team, Tahir and Morris also went out. Pandya was able to give Daredevils a clear defeat which moved it to the fifth position in the points table.
