New Delhi: The countdown to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has begun and this time the tournament may see some changes. In view of the Corona crisis, this time the IPL is being played in only four grounds, in such a way, preparations are being made by the BCCI in view of every situation. In such a situation, a question also arises if, after the start of IPL, the case of corona infection comes out in a team, then what will happen. According to the new rules, if a case of corona comes out in a team just before the start of the match and that team fails to present its 12 players, then things will change.

Each team has to be told 12 players before the match, including the 11th player of the final XI and one of the 12th players who are available as substitutes. Out of these, 7 players must be Indians. If these 12 players are not available then, the match will be considered on another day. If this is not possible, then the case will be referred to the technical committee of the IPL. Whatever the committee decides, it will be the final decision. Earlier, if such a situation arose, then the front team would be given two points.

During the IPL, each team will have to stay in the bio-bubble, separate hotels have been arranged for the teams. Along with this, the corona test of all the players will be done before the match. Due to these conditions, all the league matches of the IPL are being played in three stadiums in Mumbai and one stadium in Pune.
