CHENNAI: In the next Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), Mahendra Singh Dhoni will play in his 200th game as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) when they take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Wednesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

With 237 caps, including 213 as captain, the former India captain already holds the record for the most IPL appearances by a player. In addition to CSK, Dhoni oversaw Pune Supergiants in 2016.

Ravindra Jadeja, a seasoned all-rounder for CSK and India, hailed Dhoni's accomplishments and referred to him as a legend in both Indian cricket and CSK. He added that the best way to honour Dhoni on his 200th match as captain would be to win against the RR.

What else can I say? He is not only a legend of CSK, but also of Indian cricket. I'd like to send him my best wishes. We're hoping to win tomorrow so we can give him a present for his 200th game as captain. Jadeja told media prior to the game against RR that he hoped to "maintain the momentum of how we have played in the last two games."

When asked about the Chepauk surface, Jadeja noted that the match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was different from the typical Chepauk wicket and that the bowler had to adapt.

"You must bowl in accordance with the wicket if you are playing in Chennai. We can't possibly attempt too many different things in Chennai because the wickets favour spinners. We only need to adhere to the fundamental line and length. Also, it depends on the bowling team we are using.
