New Delhi: In the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and decided to bat first and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) came to the field to bowl, but in the very first over of this innings. Lucknow got a big blow. Actually, LSG captain KL Rahul got injured while fielding and had to be out of the ground.

After KL Rahul was ruled out of the field, Krunal Pandya took charge of the team in his place. KL Rahul, who went out of the field after being injured, did not return to the field till the end of the first innings. And in the second innings, KL Rahul did not come to open the innings and in his place Ayush Badoni came to the crease with Kyle Meyers. KL Rahul was injured while running before reaching the boundary while chasing a shot from Faf Duplessis on the last ball of the first over of the first innings. At this time Marcus Stennis was bowling and Duplessis hit a brilliant shot on his ball which was going for four and KL Rahul was trying to stop it. Rahul could not stop that shot, but fell before reaching the boundary.

After falling, Rahul moaned in pain and could not get up again. After this the physio reached near him and tried to handle him. After falling on the ground, it seemed that Rahul had suffered a serious injury and had reached the stretcher on the ground, but he got up with the help of his fellow players and then went limping out of the ground. After this, Krunal Pandya took over the command of Lucknow from the second over. The seriousness of KL Rahul's injury is yet to be ascertained, but if his injury is serious then it is not a good sign for Lucknow and Team India.
