New Delhi: Eight old Indian Premier League (IPL) teams have released their list of retained players. Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh for IPL 2022, but captain KL Rahul has withdrawn from the team. Now there is a controversy over the same issue. PBKS co-owner Ness Wadia has alleged that if KL Rahul has already been approached by other teams, it is against the rules.

Speaking to the media, Ness Wadia said, 'We wanted to retain KL Rahul, but he wanted to go for auction. But if they have been approached by any other teams before the auction, it is against the rules.'  In fact, there have been reports claiming that the Lucknow team has approached Rahul. On this, PBKS co-owner Ness Wadia said, "I hope it won't happen, because it's against BCCI rules."

Tell us that this year is scheduled to be a mega auction of IPL, before each old team had an opportunity to retain a total of four players. Many teams have retained between one and four players. According to the rules, no player or other team can contact each other unless the old team releases the player concerned completely. A player can contact or go to auction only after it is released from the old team.
