Lucknow: A sports vigilance probe into the recovery of IPS Manilal Patidar, who has been on the run since the death of crusher businessman Indrakant Tripathi of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh, has come to light. IPS officer Manilal Patidar has been found guilty in the investigation. Manilal Patidar, who was superintendent of police in Mahoba in September 2020, was suspended by the Yogi Adityanath government in the state following the death of Chandrakant Tripathi and a vigilance probe was ordered on September 11, 2020.

Vigilance investigations have revealed that there was a fierce transaction in the postings of police stations in Mahoba. The then Superintendent of Police Manilal Patidar had removed and deployed the SHO several times over the recovery of the month. Even the directions of the DGP Headquarters regarding the posting of police station in-charges were not followed. At the same time, after the posting of police stations by paying bribe, the subordinate policemen in the district made a lot of extortion and tortured the public.

The vigilance had sought permission from the government to register an FIR against IPS Manilal Patidar under the Prevention of Corruption Act, which has now been approved by the Chief Minister's Office. After which, soon an FIR will be lodged by the vigilance against IPS officer Manilal Patidar.
