President Ebrahim Raisi has stated that his government wants "maximum interaction" with all countries, particularly its neighbours and friends.

During his visit to Moscow, Raisi addressed the plenary session of Russia's Duma, saying that interactions and cooperation help countries meet their mutual interests and establish a "civilised global society."

He emphasised that the "successful" model of collaboration between Iran and Russia in Syria has ensured the country's independence and boosted regional security. Raisi also referenced foreign powers in the area and US sanctions, claiming that "the hegemonic approach has now failed, and the US is at its lowest point, and the strength of independent states is growing at an extraordinary pace."
