TEHRAN:  Iran has made its "political decision" on a possible agreement on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, calling for the United states to make its own one, a  senior Iranian lawmaker said.

"The agreement procedure has begun following the conclusion of the negotiations. Iran has already made a political decision, so America must now do the same "SNN cited Abbas Moqtadaee, vice chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, as saying.

Moqtadaee made the comments after the parliament's closed-door meeting with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani,  Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani and officials from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

Vali Esmaili, vice chairman of the parliament's social commission said that the US and the West now have the initiative and must decide how to react to Iran about the accord. Esmaili said that the Iranian negotiation team in the nuclear talks has been given full authority by the parliament.

The EU's proposed deal was the subject of a letter response from Iran on Monday, underlining that the nuclear agreement will be reached provided the US answer demonstrates realism and flexibility.

After a five-month break, the latest round of nuclear negotiations took place in the Austrian capital of Vienna in early August. The "final wording" of the draught decision to revive the nuclear agreement was presented by the EU on August 8.
