New Delhi: Iran has been witnessing massive anti-government protests following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody in September this year. Hundreds of people have been killed in the demonstrations. Meanwhile, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri has presented a clarification while defending his government. The country's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri said, 'Mahsa Amini was not murdered, she died.'

It is noteworthy that on September 16, anti-hijab demonstrations began across Iran. The biggest reason behind these demonstrations is the death of Mahsa Amini. In Iran, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was detained by the police on 13 September because her hair was visible through her hijab. After this Iran's Moral Police brutally beat Amini in custody, due to which she went into a coma. Mahsa died three days after this incident i.e. on 16 September.

Now during an interview, Ali Bagheri said on Thursday that, 'Mahsa Amini was not murdered, she died. We have seen the atmosphere created by some of the Western media regarding the ongoing developments in Iran. This is absolutely baseless and misleading. We are seeing that the rights of the Iranian nation are being violated by these Western forces.' Explain that the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister is visiting India as part of political consultations between the two countries. During this, he said, 'Western powers do not talk about the people of Afghanistan, Palestine or Yemen. They do not condone these actions. Who are the real murderers of these people?'
