Tehran: The Islamic country Iran was about to attack the ongoing FIFA World Cup in another Islamic country Qatar. However, Iran believes in Shia Islam and Qatar Sunni Islam, this is also a reason for the dispute between the two. Through this attack, Iran wanted to spoil the organization of the FIFA World Cup. The Jerusalem Post has claimed this by quoting the head of military intelligence of the Israeli Defense Force.

According to media reports, Major General Aharon Haliva said this at a conference of the National Institute for Security Studies (INSS) in Tel Aviv. He has said that the only concern that prevented Iran from carrying out a terrorist attack was how the host country Qatar would react to it. It is noteworthy that the Football World Cup started in Qatar from last Sunday. This tournament will be played till 19 December. Iran is among the 32 countries participating in the tournament. Iran's football team didn't even sing their national anthem before their match against England on Monday. Anti-hijab protests have been going on in Iran for a long time. Iran's players did not sing the national anthem in support of the protest.

According to the report, Major General Aharon Haliva has said that the Iranian government was worried about power. Along with the ever-increasing demonstrations in the country over Hijab, it is also facing the ban of western countries.
