Tehran: On Friday, Iranian intelligence agency Revolutionary Guards announced on Friday that they have captured two oil tankers that had been hit by a British flag. A British tanker has been seized in the Strait of Hormuz to break the 'International Maritime Rules' of the Guards.

According to the Guards' website SipahNews, at the request of the Hormuzgan port and the maritime organization, the Revolutionary Guards intercepted a tanker named Stana Impero. As per the information received so far, there are 23 crew members in one of the ships in possession. These include 18 citizens of Indian origin. It also includes citizens of Russia, the Philippines, and Latvia. On the other hand, the Indian External Affairs Ministry has said that we are collecting the public opinion of the case.

Our first mission is the early release of Indian nationals and the return to homeland for which we are in touch with the Government of Iran. Following the incident, Britain reacted sharply and warned Iran of a serious warning. In fact, just a few days ago, British navy and Gibraltar officials intercepted a large oil tanker on its way to Syria. The cargo vessel has been arrested on charges of violating European Union (EU) sanctions. Relations between Iran and England have been strained since the incident.
