Jerusalem: Israel has accused the country's defence minister's housekeeper of allegedly spying for Hackers related to Iran. Israeli authorities have reported in this regard on Thursday. The man identified as Omari Goren reportedly has a criminal record but worked at Defence Minister Benny Gantz's house as a cleaner.

His arrest has put a question mark on background checks of people who have access to Israeli leaders. The Shin Bet Security Service, which announced the arrest, said it was reviewing its investigation procedures. According to the security service and the indictment, Goren saw reports in the Israeli media regarding a hacker group called "Black Shadows." Goren communicated his access to the defence minister to the group by sending photos of various objects in Gantz's home, including his computer.

The Israeli government has said that Goren, known as Gorochovsky, discussed infecting Gantz's computer with malware, but was arrested before executing any plan. He said he didn't have access to classified materials yet.
