Patna: Tejashwi Yadav, who became the Deputy Chief Minister in the new Grand Alliance government of Bihar, is speculated to be arrested. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday moved a Delhi court against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav in the IRCTC scam case.

The CBI has sought the cancellation of bail granted to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Yadav's younger son Tejashwi Yadav in the case. According to media reports, Special Judge Geetanjali Goyal has issued notice to Tejashwi Yadav on the CBI's petition and sought a reply in the case. Tejashwi Yadav and his mother Rabri Devi were granted bail in the case in 2018. The scam is linked to the IRCTC hotel maintenance contract case in which the CBI had named 12 people and two companies as accused.

In 2006, there were alleged irregularities in the allotment of contracts for two IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri in Odisha to a private firm involved in kickbacks as a three-acre commercial plot at a prominent place in Bihar's capital Patna. The central probe agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also filed a chargesheet in the case and accused him of money laundering. Now if the court cancels the bail of Tejashwi Yadav, then he can be arrested.
