Ford is again raising hopes among Indian users. It is believed that Ford may return to India soon. Recently, Ford has given information about its Ford + plan by giving a letter to the Tamil Nadu government. Earlier Ford had many plants in India. The company sold the Gujarat plant to Tata Motors, but kept the Tamil Nadu plant with itself. Now that Ford is planning to come back to India again, it seems that the company will start exporting vehicles from this plant.

Employees at Ford's Tamil Nadu plant: According to Ford, around 12,000 people are currently working at their Tamil Nadu plant. This number can be increased by 2,500 to 3,000 in the next three years. Ford had planned to launch electric cars (EV) after winding up its business from India and had also applied for this under the PLI scheme.

There was a plan to sell the Tamil Nadu plant: Last year, Ford had talks with Sajjan Jindal's company JSW to sell the Tamil Nadu plant. But this deal could not be completed. Since then people have been speculating that Ford can make a comeback in India again.

Which companies replaced Ford?: When Ford was working in India, companies like Maruti, Mahindra, Tata, Toyota and Hyundai dominated here. At that time Ford did not see much hope in India, so they closed their business. But in the last 2-3 years, Kia and MG Motors have made a strong hold in the Indian market. Due to this, now Ford is seeing possibilities of returning to India again.
