New Delhi: A new commuter bike will soon be introduced in India by Honda to compete with rivals like Hero Splendor. Honda is currently working on introducing some new bikes and scooters in the country. By early 2023, this new Honda 100cc bike is expected to go on sale and be sold at a very reasonable price.
As per what we know currently, the Japanese manufacturer will introduce this new 100cc bike in India for around Rs 75,000 (ex-showroom) and will market it as a dependable and elegant commuter.
It is also anticipated to have a smaller overall footprint and a lighter body, which will make it a great bike for regular city riding.
It is expected to feature twin shock absorbers at the rear and a conventional telescopic suspension setup at the front. Drum brakes are expected to do the braking work with a combined braking setup at both the ends.
Ahead of the release of this new 100cc bike, Honda is also making efforts to expand its dealership network across the country. The brand recently added 119 more associate dealers, 10 Best Deals (BD) outlets and 239 approved service centers in FY2022, apart from 11 new touchpoints in both urban and rural areas. Some new, reasonably priced bikes and scooters from Honda are also expected to be launched in the country soon.
Currently one of the best selling brands in the country, the Japanese company reported total sales of 4,49,391 units in October 2022. It sold 4,32,229 units in the same month last year, just for a quick comparison.
The brand exported only 23,422 units last month, resulting in a decrease of 37.68% (YoY basis) in the total number of units exported. For the customers looking for a high-end and powerful bike in the market, Honda is also expected to launch the new CB 500 in India soon.
The 471cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that powers the CB500 produces a maximum of 47 horsepower and 43 pound-feet of torque. The company will soon give more information before the launch.
