New Delhi: Fireworks have not been allowed to burst in many states and cities this year on Diwali due to rising pollution. At the same time, the sale of firecrackers has also been banned in many states. On the other hand, green crackers are being sold in many places as they have less impact on the environment. Delhi:- Pollution is very high in the capital of the country. The Pollution Control Committee has completely banned the sale and bursting of firecrackers in the national capital till January 1, 2022. There is also a ban on the sale and bursting of green crackers.

Karnataka: The BJP government in the state has allowed the sale and bursting of green firecrackers only. It has also issued instructions to the people to strictly follow all the protocols of Covid-19.

West Bengal: The Pollution Control Board had said that green crackers will be allowed to be lit from 8 pm to 10 pm for two hours on Diwali and Kali Puja evenings. However, the Kolkata High Court had imposed a complete ban on firecrackers, following which a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the order, which will come up for hearing today itself.

Haryana: The Haryana government has banned the sale and burning of all types of firecrackers in 14 of its districts in the Delhi-NCR region.
These districts include Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Jind, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Noonh, Palwal, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak and Sonepat. On the other hand, green crackers are allowed to burst in other districts.

Rajasthan:- Ashok Gehlot government has allowed only green crackers to be fired from 8 pm to 10 pm in festivals like Diwali and Guruparb, 6 am to 8 am on Chhath Puja and 11:55 pm to 12:30 pm on Christmas and New Year.

Chhattisgarh:- According to the Chhattisgarh government, allowed the bursting of firecrackers from 8 pm to 10 pm during Diwali and Guruparva. Fireworks can be fired on Chhath Puja from 6 am to 8 am, and on New Year and Christmas from 11.55 am to 12.30 am.

Maharashtra: The Uddhav Thackeray government, however, has not banned the use of firecrackers, but has urged people to refrain from lighting firecrackers this year.

Madhya Pradesh: The BJP government in the state has allowed the bursting of firecrackers in view of Diwali.  The government has issued a guideline for firecrackers saying that green crackers can be burst for two hours on Diwali in cities where air quality is below 100 to 200.
