Ahmedabad: Deputy CM Nitin Patel, who was once again deprived of the post hours after being elected as the new CM in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Gujarat, said he has seen many ups and downs in life. He said that he lives in the hearts of the people and no one can get him out of there. Patel, while addressing the people during an event in Mehsana city on Sunday evening, also said in a lighter vein that he was not alone who missed the bus. There are 'a lot' like him.

Bhupendra Patel will be sworn in as CM of Gujarat today, but after the announcement of the name, there is also speculation that Nitin Patel is angry. Nitin Patel was not present even when Bhupendra Patel along with Vijay Rupani visited Governor Acharya Devvrat to claim government formation. Nitin Patel had left for Mehsana and said at the rally that he had come after informing the upcoming Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani had resigned from the post on Saturday and a meeting of party MLAs was held at BJP headquarters 'Kamalam' in Gandhinagar on Sunday in which Bhupendra Patel was elected as the next CM after which speculations are rife that deputy CM Nitin Patel is unhappy with it. Nitin Patel was considered to be at the forefront of the race for the CM post after Rupani resigned.
