It is being reported that the deadline for the exchange of old 500-1000 rupee notes closed in demonetization has been extended. However, this facility is for special persons like foreign tourists. It may be noted that RBI, the central bank of the country, means arrear typed information on the letterhead format of the Reserve Bank of India. A letter is going viral on social media. According to information, published on RBI's so-called letterhead, another opportunity is being given by the government to exchange currency notes that were discontinued due to demonetization in 2016. It is said that the deadline for the exchange of old notes demonetized has been extended.
The same facility is for foreign tourists. In the demonetization in November 2016, old 500 and 1000 rupee notes were abandoned. Later, new 500 notes were issued, while the Rs 1000 note was discontinued.
In 2016, at 8 pm on November 8, PM Narendra Modi announced demonetization while addressing entire India. Announcing the Demonetization, he had said that old 500 and 1000 notes would be discontinued. Thereafter, people were given an opportunity to exchange notes for a long time. But it has been years since the deadline expired.
