New Delhi: Spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who was suspended by the BJP for his alleged controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammed, has received support from a Pakistani journalist. Earlier, Netherlands MP and Pakistani-origin writer Tariq Fateh had also supported Nupur Sharma. Pakistani-origin journalist Taha Siddiqui has tweeted in support of Nupur.

Taha said in a tweet, "Why not confirm the hadith instead of attacking Nupur Sharma and the BJP. Muslim leaders should come forward for this and if this hadith is wrong, then it should be removed from Bukhari immediately. So that no one will be able to make fun of. Let me tell you that Taha writes articles for media houses like The New York Times, Guardian, AlJazeera and France-24.

At the same time, noted Pakistani-origin writer Tariq Fateh has also supported Nupur, saying that Nupur Sharma is getting threats from jihadis. The police should provide them security. He further said, "Many people make fun of the gods and goddesses of Hindus. No one says anything on him, but if Nupur said something, so much was made for him. In Nigeria, a Muslim killed people in a church and no one dared to raise this. '

Earlier, Netherlands MP Girt Wilders had said, "It is very ridiculous that Arab and Islamic countries are furious at Indian leader Nupur Sharma telling the truth about the Prophet. Why should India apologise?"' Netherlands MP Girt Wilders tweeted, "Appeasement never works. It makes things worse. So, my friends from India, you should not come under threat from Islamic countries. Stand up for freedom and take pride and stand firm in the defence of your leader Nupur Sharma, who spoke the truth about the Prophet. '
