New Delhi: In order to tackle problems like misuse of PAN cards and duplicate PAN, the Income Tax Department had introduced QR codes with PAN cards. Since July 2018, all PAN cards receive a unique QR code containing the taxpayer's details. The QR code is printed in the front of the PAN card and contains information such as the person's photograph, name including signature, name of the parent, date of birth.

People will need a dedicated app to read this QR code. The app is available on the Google Play Store and is called Enhanced PAN QR Code Reader. With the help of this, people can scan the print QR code on the PAN card using a smartphone. It will verify your details and give you real-time details related to your PAN card. Let's know how you can use this app.

The app works like this:-
* First of all, you need to go to the Google Play Store and download the Enhanced PAN QR Code Reader app. Let me tell you to download the developed app of NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited.
* Then, users need to click on Next.
* Now, like the camera, the viewfinder will open and the green dot will appear on your screen.
* Users will have to move the camera to the PAN QR code to check their PAN card and move the green dot to the centre.
* After scanning the document, users will get all the details related to their PAN card. Thus you can easily check the authenticity of your PAN card.
