New Delhi: P Chidambaram has been fire upon with the allegations by the BJP over the Ishrat Jehan case. Today Congress president Sonia Gandhi has come in support of the former home minister.

Ishrat with three others dead in Gujarat in 2004. “All four were involved in a plot of assassinate then CM Modi”, claimed Gujarat police.

Mrs. Gandhi (Sonia) said, “Chidambaram has already explained this. We have been targeted since we were in power. "When she asked to respond to the allegation by ruling party BJP that the P Chidambaram rewrote an affidavit on Ishrat Jehan.
The BJP has so-called that Chidambaram changed his ministry’s affidavit to the High court of Gujarat which present smart inputs to say that The girl named Ishrat was a terrorist, and in his second affidavit he said there was no proof of the teen’s terror links and BJP also stated that Mr. Chidambaram modified the entire documents to case his congress party’s stand that the dead girl was innocent and stabin cold blood on the Gujarat Govt’s orders.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "The government is not closed to the option of a judicial probe in the entire episode," and also questioned "Mr Chidambaram as Home Minister of India changed an affidavit to say there was no conclusive evidence to prove Ishrat's Lashkar links. Can a home minister behave in such an irresponsible manner?"
Meanwhile, On Monday Chidambaram said,"As a minister I accept full responsibility for the affidavit and it is disappointing that the former home secretary who is equally responsible wants to distance himself from that now,"
