Khandwa: The Kolkata STF has arrested a suspected Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist from the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. He has been identified as 33-year-old Abdul Rakib Qureshi. Earlier on January 6, the STF had arrested Mohammad Saddam (28) and Saeed Ahmed (30) from the Howrah district of West Bengal. It was only after the arrest of these two that a team was sent to Madhya Pradesh.

A senior official has informed that both the suspects arrested from Howrah had revealed Qureshi's name. Abdul Rakib Qureshi, who was arrested from Khandwa, has also been a terrorist of the banned organization Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). A mobile phone, a pen drive, and some incriminating documents were recovered from him. He has been brought to Kolkata and is being questioned.

According to a senior police officer, Saddam is an MTech and works in a software company in Gurugram. At the same time, Ahmed works in his father's company. Both have been booked under sections 121 (waging war against the government) and 122 (collecting arms for fighting) of the IPC. Both Saddam and Ahmed are in police custody. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the duo used to mislead the youth and then provide them with explosives and weapons.
