Pakistan's Imran government has been reprimanded by Islamabad High Court. The court has imposed this reprimand on the media by banning their voice. The High Court has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to submit the rules made for social media. it also warned that the courts have never allowed the government to ban the media. The court will not allow the voice of the media to stop.

During the hearing of the case related to media principles and rules, the High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that constructive criticism is a pre-condition of nation-building. The Chief Justice asked why should anyone be afraid of criticism. The famous Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir had told the court that the government has issued a notification to rule social media. Whereas the central government ministers were completely unaware of this. He openly admitted that there was no discussion in the Union Cabinet on this notification.

On this important matter (PEMRA) representatives informed the court that after national and international criticism, Prime Minister Imran Khan formed a committee to review the rules made. These rules have not been implemented yet. On this, Justice Minallah directed the representatives of the PTA and PEMRA to present the rules framed in the court and adjourned the hearing for two weeks. Barrister Jahangir Jadun, who challenged the rules made for social media, also informed the court about the orders like arresting the editor-in-chief of Jung Group and not broadcasting live news to cable operators.
