Islamabad: A historic act may soon take place in Pakistan's Islamabad High Court (IHC). The first woman judge may be appointed soon in Islamabad High Court. Islamabad High Court was established in January 2011. Information about this has been given by the concerned officials on Tuesday.

According to Dawn News report, the Law Ministry had given formal notice of the recommendation of the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah to the Pakistan Judicial Commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khan Khosa. According to a document sent to the Chief Justice of Pakistan by Union Minister of Law and Justice and Judge Farog Nasim, the panel of three lawyers nominated by Justice Meinallah includes Lubna Salim Pervez.

Lubna Salim Parvez is the current Deputy Attorney General of Sindh High Court. Lawyer Faiz Anjum Jandram from Islamabad and Ghulam Azam Kambarani from Balochistan are two other nominees. The CJP will consider the names of the three lawyers for a one-year term of an additional judge, only after that, a decision will be taken.
