KABUL: Afghanistan's Islamic Emirate described recent house-to-house searches as "productive," claiming that many guns and ammunition were seized. In the so-called clearing operation, numerous Daesh fighters, robbers, and kidnappers were also apprehended.
Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said at a press conference in Kabul on Sunday that recent home clearings were intended to apprehend criminals, some of whom were released from prison following the transition of administration. Women were among the Islamic Emirate forces searching residences, according to Mujahid, and only "suspected places" were examined, according reports. "Nine kidnappers, six Daesh members, and 53 robbers were apprehended," he added.
Some Kabul residents said that Islamic Emirate forces ransacked their homes. "They advised the family should stay inside the house," Ali Yasar, a Kabul local, claimed. "They inspected everywhere except one room where women were."
