Jerusalem: The Israeli Ministry of Health on December 2 reported a third case of the Covid-19 variant Omicron in the country. According to the ministry, this is an Israeli who was lately returned from England and was vaccinated with three Pfizer doses. The report adds, the previous two Omicron-infected patients returned from Malawi and South Africa.

According to the ministry, there is a strong probability of additional 30 Omicron cases in Israel, for which the results of genetic sequencing testing have not yet been obtained. 24 of the 30 had not been vaccinated or had been found more than a year ago. In addition, 11 of the 30 have recently returned from a trip abroad.

There are also 12 other cases of low suspicion for the variant, as their inconclusive test results were sent back to be retested.
