Jerusalem: The  Jewish country of Israel is born from Palestine. The borders of the two countries are also found. The border dispute between Israel and Palestine is not of today. Since Israel came into existence, there have been wars between the two countries. Meanwhile, Israel's top court delivered a verdict on July 21, 2022, in view of the country's security, in which the court said that the citizenship of Palestinian citizens who are not loyal to the country will be taken away. This includes people who carry out acts of espionage and terror against Israel.

According to the ruling of Israel's top court, the citizenship of persons who "violate loyalty" to the country, including terrorism, espionage or treason, can be revoked in the country. However, human rights organisations fear that the court's decision will only be imposed on non-Jewish citizens. Let me tell you that this decision has been given while addressing the citizenship law of 2008 in Israel. It empowers the state to revoke citizenship on the grounds of acts that "violate loyalty". The Supreme Court's ruling came after separate appeals in the cases of two Palestinian citizens of Israel who were found guilty of carrying out attacks on Israeli citizens. Both were sentenced to lengthy sentences, but the state tried to take away their citizenship.

The decision of Israel's top court has angered organisations working for Muslims. In the same episode, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel and an Arab rights organization, Adalah, criticized it. The organization described the court's decision as discriminatory and feared that it would be used specifically against Palestinian citizens of Israel. According to the report, about 20 per cent of Israeli citizens are Palestinians.

Let us know that in many countries of the world, there are laws through which it is allowed to terminate the citizenship of a person if found guilty in a particular case. It has been used in the fight against terrorism for the last two decades. However, this policy of governments is also considered to be very controversial. International law prohibits the government of a country from revoking the citizenship of its citizens.
