GAZA: In a tragic escalation of violence, Israeli missiles have struck a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, killing 17 Palestinians and injuring 80 others. The school was sheltering displaced people when it was hit, officials in Gaza reported. This incident adds to the mounting death toll and humanitarian crisis in the region.

Global Condemnation of "Endless Massacre"
Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza, describing it as an "endless massacre." He criticized Israel’s repeated attacks on so-called "safe zones," including a recent strike on the al-Mawasi camp that killed 90 people. The international community has increasingly voiced concerns over the heavy civilian casualties and destruction.

Hamas Denies Ceasefire Talks Withdrawal

Amid the chaos, Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas’s political office, denied reports that the group had withdrawn from renewed ceasefire talks. The conflict has seen significant casualties on both sides, with at least 38,443 Palestinians killed and 88,481 wounded since October 7. Israel has also suffered, with an estimated 1,139 deaths from Hamas-led attacks on the same day, and dozens of Israelis remain held captive in Gaza.

Intense Fighting in Central Gaza

The fighting continues unabated in Gaza City’s neighborhoods. Palestinian fighters are reportedly engaging Israeli troops with short-range rockets near the Tal al-Hawa area. According to reports from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and the Critical Threats Project (CTP), Israeli forces stationed on the Netzarim Corridor south of Gaza City have come under rocket and mortar fire from various Palestinian armed groups.

Southern Gaza Sees Heavy Conflict

In Rafah, the southern city of Gaza, Israeli forces have been targeted with a barrage of rockets, mortar shells, rocket-propelled grenades, and small arms fire, as per the ISW/CTP report. The intensity of the conflict in this area underscores the widespread and relentless nature of the fighting.

"Multi-Stage" Attack on al-Mawasi Camp

Israel’s assault on the al-Mawasi camp was described as a “multi-stage attack” by three Palestinian human rights groups: the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), Al-Haq, and the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights. The groups detailed that the attack, which lasted about 90 minutes, involved multiple missiles, drones, and quadcopters. These findings were based on information gathered by field researchers in Gaza.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza has drawn sharp international criticism and raised urgent calls for a ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and destruction.
