Avigdor Lieberman, Israel's Finance Minister, has tested positive for Covid-19 and will isolate for a few days at home.
Lieberman, who had the fourth Covid-19 vaccination shot on January 10, received his test results on Saturday and stated that he "would continue to manage a responsible economic policy from home, follow numbers, and plan moves forward." Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health recorded 39,015 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, increasing the country's total number of infections to 1,768,135.
The death toll rose by ten to 8,303, while the number of very ill patients increased from 306 to 387. The number of active cases reached a new high of 267,734, while the percentage of positive daily test results jumped from 12.65% to 14.02 percent, the highest level since September 2020.
