BANGALORE: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has shared a remarkable glimpse of our planet and its celestial neighbor through the lenses of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft's onboard cameras. One of the released images portrays the Earth, captured by the Lander Imager (LI) Camera on July 14. This momentous shot was taken during the launch of the Chandrayaan-3 mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

In another captivating image, the Moon takes center stage, elegantly framed by the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) on August 6. This snapshot showcases the lunar beauty from a unique perspective.

ISRO conveyed through its social media platform X, "Chandrayaan-3 Mission: Earth as seen through the eyes of the Lander Imager (LI) Camera on launch day, and the Moon artistically imaged by the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) the day following Lunar Orbit Insertion."

The Lander Imager  camera, a creation of the Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, captured the Earth's enchanting vista. Meanwhile, the intricate details of the Moon were preserved by the Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS), situated in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Previously, ISRO had shared a breathtaking video of the Moon as observed during the Lunar Orbit Insertion, a significant milestone that occurred on August 1.

On August 9, ISRO successfully executed the third orbit reduction maneuver for Chandrayaan-3. The spacecraft now finds itself at a mere distance of 1,437 km from the Moon, marking another step forward in India's exploration of space.
