Visakhapatnam: 14 satellites will be launched from India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket from Sriharikota launch pad in Andhra Pradesh at 9.28 am on November 27 in space in just 27 minutes. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will place 14 satellites in space with its PSLV-XL variants. It will mainly include India's 1,625 kg Cartresat-3 satellite, while 13 nano satellites of America will also be launched in it.
The US will pay for this joint ride to ISRO's new commercial arm - NewSpace India Limited. The PSLV rocket will be the first to orbit in a mere 17 minutes to a Katresat-3 satellite working for five years. According to ISRO, Katresat-3 is a third generation advanced satellite. It has the capability of high resolution imaging.
The satellite will be able to take pictures to meet the demands of urban planning, development of rural resources and infrastructure, use of coastal land and others. Just a minute after installing the Indian satellite, it will place the first of the 13 American Nano satellites in its orbit. 26 minutes and 50 seconds after takeoff of PSLV rocket, it will put the last satellite in its orbit.
