Hyderabad firm Saince HealthTech developed a mobile app to assist doctors write prescriptions, makes it easy for patients to follow instructions and improve the process of delivery at pharmacies.

A database of over 26,800 licensed drugs sold in India is loaded in the mobile-based electronic prescription application, the 'RapidRx'.

President and CEO Raghuvir Vedantham, said, on wednesday to announce the launch.

Initially, the Made for India app by the subsidiary of Atlanta-based Saince Inc is to be promoted by invitation, among doctors in select cities in southern and northern regions.

On approvals, CEO said the company was working with Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health among others to get the app vetted.

He added, "the database of both generic and branded drugs provides information on their strength and in-take method. Besides prescribing, the app helps doctors provide instructions about the dosage and duration for which the drugs need to be use".

“It is a very intuitive app that enables doctors to write prescriptions in a few seconds, and usage would minimise medication errors," he said.

The app would be activated only after a verification process of the doctors and pharmacies by Saince HealthTech, and will be available free for download on Google Play and Apple App Stores.
