It is not possible to block Blue Whale technically, parents should be careful

The central government has told the Supreme Court that technically it is not possible to block violent and suicide games like blue whales. The court has instructed that the children who see the signs of depression, their parents and teachers should keep a close watch on them. The court said that due to the depression children are vulnerable to such online games. Blue Whale is an online game, in which an unknown curator encourages children to break their lives by brainwashing. 

Case against Blue whale was filed for banning by PIL
A public interest petition was filed in the Supreme Court to ban this game. After which the court asked the government to consider ways to stop it and raise awareness among the youth. Attorney General K. Venugopal told the court that a high-level committee created by the government could not establish the involvement of Blue Whale games in recent deaths. 

HRD Ministry has issued guidelines

Attorney General Venugopal said that the government had issued guidelines to the Educational Institutions through the HRD Ministry, which has been asked to keep a close eye on the children who have signs of depression. He said, "Parents also have the responsibility to see what their children are doing and how they are doing on the Internet."

The challenge is not a game that can be downloaded on a phone or a website and therefore banned, Udbhav Tiwari from Centre of Internet and Society here said.  "Since there is no application or one specific website for the challenge, it can't really be banned not unless you completely ban the internet," Tiwari told
