Shahid Kapoor  is all set to portray these personalities for his upcoming film Kabir Singh. The trailer of the film released today and Shahid along with his co-star Kiara Advani made an impressive appearance at the event. The actors spoke at length about their characters as well as the film. 

Speaking about his character, Shahid said "It is very different from all the roles I have done before. I know a lot of people think this is an edgy role like that of Tommy Singh (Udta Punjab) but this is a love story and it is about his pain."

Kabir Singh is slightly on the darker side of drama. Speaking about how different it is, Shahid said, "We have not changed the world of the film, it is dark in parts but overall a very passionate movie. I think we are hypocritical about how we see movies in India as against internationally. We all have issues, we all are different, we all have anger in us. We are not showing everyone is perfect. We are not sugarcoating things."

Kabir Singh is a remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda. While the Telugu counterpart was a blockbuster hit at the box office. The film is helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and it will hit the screens on June 21.
