'It was a tough going' Ambati Rayudu on CSK's victory over RR

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets  at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday. Ambati Rayudu’s 57 off 47 deliveries and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s 43-ball 58 made all the difference after the early collapse of CSK’s top order.  Ambati Rayudu who was the highest run scorer for the franchise last season, has struggled impress with his bat in the 12th edition and scored just 78 runs in the six matches but he regained his momentum and smashed crucial 57 off 47 against Rajasthan on Thursday and lifted CSK towards the victory. He spoke about the importance of his knock in the post-match presentation ceremony.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, Rayudu said,  “It was a tough going. The wickets have been slow. We both are really experienced. You dream for such situations where you can take your team out of trouble. There is no pressure. I have been batting well. When it is your day, you should help your team.”

Rayudu further added, “I have been scoring 20s on those difficult wicket. It is important on your day to pull your team through.”

Rayudu also praised Ravindra Jadeja who smashed a six on the first ball of the last over. When CSK required 18 in the final over to seize the game Jadeja smashed a six against Ben Stokes on the very first ball of the final over and make it to 12 in 5 deliveries.

He said,“The first ball for a six from Jaddu was unbelievable. Definitely, he is coming into his groove. Obviously, he is very talented. He has been bowling well. Everyone knows about his fielding and today his batting as well.”
